Track Machines at Khandallah

During the night of 11/12 June, two track machines, ETM214, a Mk3 ballast tamper and ETM296, a ballast regulator were stored on the down main in the station at Khandallah. The following are views of the machines coupled together and some views of Johnsonville units using the up main in both directions.

DM562 comes to a stand at Khandallah on the up main with the 7pm Johnsonville to Wellington service.	Looking south, signal 4LB is at proceed for an approaching Wellington-bound unit. Seeing this signal at anything other than red is rare.	Rain hammers down on the roof of the tamper.	Coupled together on the down main at Khandallah are ballast regulatoor ETM296 nearest the camera and tamper ETM214.
From the down main platform ETM214 is seen in the light of the station shelter.	This view of ETM214 is from the up platform.	Looking north from Khandallah, rain falls steadily in this view of the machines on the down main.	Later that evening D2826 is seen at the rear of the 10.30pm Johnsonville to Wellington service.
The 6.32pm Wellington to Johnsonville unit is seen alongside the track machines.
